Second Mortgages or "Soft Seconds"

The CCFRC is in the process of planning to offer Clayton County citizens a program that features a second mortgage or "soft second" that will allow them to get caught up on their delinquent payments or negative equity.

As the CCFRC works out the details of its second mortgage or "soft second" program, such as its funding source(s), regulations for lenders, qualifications process for borrowers, potential partnerships, and more, information will be available via this Web site and additional means of public outreach and education.

Potential funding sources for the second mortgage program include the Housing Authority of Clayton County, which is the lead agency of the CCFRC, and anticipated funds from the Economic Stimulus Package proposed by Congress.
